Challenge

Our study on behalf of MoneySupermarket revealed that the average Brit underestimates the cost of retirement by £169,000.

Some of the most interesting facts include:

Only 1 in 5 female respondents knew how much their pension pot was worth, compared to 1 in 3 men.

Only 1 per cent of 18 to 24 year olds are saving for retirement.

66 per cent of over 55s do not have life insurance.

Result

We wanted to discover how prepared Brits are for retirement, and so conducted a survey analysing how much people have saved, whether they were aware of how much was in their pension pot, whether they had life insurance and other key factors. We then broke these results down by age, gender and region of the UK to create key data stories.

Coverage includes top-tier publications like Evening Standard, ZDNet, and Employee Benefits.

In addition, the interactive tool we created for the campaign was used by over 3000 unique users in the first 8 weeks.
